Sports and Activities

Sports and activities insuranceis a special optional benefit, which can be added to any Fit 2 Trip policies and are essential for anyone  who wants to play a sport or take part in an activity on a casual basis whilst they are travelling. They are very important because they not only protect the policyholder whilst they are taking part in the sport or activity, but also essential  to ensure that in the event of an injury or accident on the sports field medical and treatment expenses can be paid

Sports insurance is an insurance option that can be contracted with any insurance policy. Hiring sports insurance, for oneself or for a child, is a gesture of great responsibility that provides security for the policyholder taking part in the sport or activity and ensures the reimbursement of medical expenses in the event of injury or accident.

Optional Sports insurance can be contracted by:

  • Anyone taking part in a sport or activity on an an occasional basis;
  • All minors who practice sports, naturally with the signature of the parent or guardian;
  • gym and pool attendees;
  • Lovers and practitioners of water sports;
  • Winter sports lovers and practitioners;
  • Lovers and practitioners of extreme sports.

At Fit 2 Trip we understand that many of our customers like to try out activities such as scuba diving, trekking or windsurfing, during their travels, which is why many sports and activities are covered as part of regular terms and conditions, these are our Grade 1 sports and activities.

Customers have the option however of extending their cover to enable them to take part in other activities, which are our Grade 2 and above:    

Grade 1 (sports and activities will automatically be covered under your policy):

  • Badminton
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Bowling
  • Camel riding
  • Canoeing
  • Cricket
  • Elephant riding
  • Fishing
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Horse trekking
  • Kitesurfing
  • Netball
  • Orienteering
  • Pony trekking
  • Raquetball
  • Roller skating
  • Rounders
  • Running
  • Sailing (within 20 nautical miles of the coastline)
  • Scuba diving (unqualified and above 18 meters)
  • Squash
  • Surfing
  • Table tennis
  • Tennis
  • Trampolining
  • Trekking (Up to 4000 metres without using climbing equipment)
  • Volleyball
  • Water polo
  • Water skiing
  • Wind surfing
  • Yachting (within 20 Nautical Miles of the coastline)
  • Zorbing

Grade 2  Your policy can be extended to cover the following sports and activities, however we won’t be available to cover you for Personal Accident or Personal Liability, whilst taking part in these sports and activities:

  • Abseiling
  • Archery
  • Fell running (up to 12 miles with up 500 meters of elevation)
  • Fencing
  • Go-karting
  • Horse riding
  • Hot air ballooning
  • Jet biking
  • Jet skiing
  • Motorcycling under 125cc (no racing and as a means of transport only)
  • Mountain biking on tarmac
  • Paintball
  • Sailing (outside 20 Nautical Miles of the coastline)
  • Scuba diving (Qualified and above 40 metres)
  • War Games
  • Yachting (Outside 20 metres of the coastline)

* Sports and Activities are only covered on incidental, non-competitive and non-professional basis

Grade 3 Your policy can be extended to cover the following sports and activities, however we won’t be available to cover you for Personal Accident or Personal Liability whilst taking part in these sports and activities

  • American Football
  • Bungee jumping
  • Gaelic football
  • Mountain biking off tarmac and with guides
  • Parascending (on water)
  • Rock climbing with ropes (organised aid climbing only)
  • Rugby League
  • Rubgy Union
  • Ski diving
  • White water canoeing/rafting (up to grade 4)

Grade 4 We’re sorry, but we can’t provide cover to customers who want to participate in the following sports and activities as well as anything not listed in Grade 1, 2 or 3.

  • Base jumping
  • Boxing
  • Canyoning
  • Cave diving
  • Caving
  • Cliff diving
  • Cliff jumping
  • Driving on a race track
  • Flying other than as a fare paying passenger
  • Gliding
  • Hang gliding
  • Horse jumping
  • Horse racing
  • Martial arts
  • Microlighting
  • Motor racing speed performance or endurance
  • Motor rallies
  • Motorboat racing
  • Motorcycle racing (125 cc and over)
  • Motorsports
  • Mountaineering
  • Parachuting
