If you are planning a trip within Spain, choose the right travel insurance

More and more of us are thinking about where to travel this summer. This summer 2021, there is also expected to be a holiday trend of national tourism in Spain, and that's why at Fit 2 Trip we have adapted to your needs and launched our Domestic Travel Coverage. While you might think that traveling in our country may carry less risk than traveling abroad, it is important to consider the risks associated with the COVID-19 situation. That is why our COVID-19 coverage also applies to domestic travel in Spain. Our goal is that you can plan your trips to Spain in advance without worries.

Some of the coverages included in our domestic travel policy are medical expenses, loss or theft of luggage, interruption, and cancellation, pet care, etc.

Interruption and cancellation:

Cancellation of travel because of Covid-19 or another infectious disease.

Always taking into account the general conditions of the insurance, your policy will cover you if necessary, in the following cases:

  • You or a family member contracts Covid-19 or another infectious disease before traveling.
  • Someone insured by the policy is required by the government of Spain to quarantine or isolate themselves during the date they planned to travel.
  • A family member you planned to stay with has to quarantine or isolate themselves and you have nowhere else to stay

Your policy will not cover any costs when:

  • You are entitled to a refund in both cash and bonus by the airline and/or the travel provider.

Interruption of travel from COVID-19 or another infectious disease

Always taking into account the general conditions of insurance, your policy will protect you in case you need to interrupt your trip due to the following reasons:

  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs imposes restrictions on flights and is obliged to return to Spain on the grounds of COVID-19 or another pandemic or infectious disease;
  • You have been prohibited from boarding your flight departing in Spain because you have symptoms of COVID-19 or another infectious disease has been detected;
  • Any relative of yours contracts COVID-19 or another infectious disease during the trip.

Your policy will not cover any costs when:

  • You are entitled to a refund in both cash and bonus by the airline and/or the travel provider.

Medical expenses:

You will have 24-hour medical assistance to receive the best care. Customers are covered for emergency hospitalization and surgical interventions. If you have a pre-existing medical condition, remember to declare it during the online medical review on our website. www.fit2trip.com/es

  • Always taking into account the general conditions of insurance, your policy will cover reasonable and necessary costs to:
  • Emergency medical care, quarantine, and repatriation if you contract COVID-19 or another infectious disease while abroad.
  • Unseen accommodation costs if you contract COVID-19 or another infectious disease and find it impossible to return home as expected.

Your policy will not cover any costs when:

  • You leave your community during the existence of a foreign travel ban by local communities.

Pet Care:

We are also concerned about the health of your pets (dog or cat), our policy includes:

  • Pet care expenses (dog or cat) incurred for each full 24-hour period in which you are delayed, due to your hospitalization.
  • If your pet (dog or cat) is admitted for surgery to treat injuries caused by an accident that occurred while you were traveling, we will reimburse you for such expenses.

Loss or theft of luggage, money, or documentation:

In Spain, one of the main incidents in travel is baggage theft or documentation. That's why our domestic travel policy includes accidental loss, theft, or damage to baggage, documentation, or money.
The maximum we will pay for a single item, pair, or set of items is equal to the Limit of a single item listed in the Policy Summary.


* Domestic travel is only covered for customers, who have pre-booked at least 2 nights’ accommodation.
